Our History

Applied Mechanical Systems, Inc. (AMS) was incorporated on February 11, 1974, in the State of Ohio as a Mechanical Contractor. Upon inception, AMS has been engaged in the industrial, institutional, and commercial installation of MEP, plumbing, sheet metal and service phases of the construction industry.

AMS had a humble beginning; a former gas station; over the next 50 years and several expansions; AMS has grown to over 20,000 square feet of office and manufacturing space.

In 1985, AMS broadened its marketing and service base by opening an office to serve the greater Cincinnati area. In 2023, AMS purchased a new Cincinnati building at 11687 Lebanon Road in Sharonville, Ohio. This helped expand the Cincinnati warehouse and office space as AMS continues to flourish in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area.

In 2007, the decision was made to open an office in Columbus to service Central Ohio after years of servicing the area. In 2020, AMS purchased a building in Columbus as a sign of continued growth in the area. The building at 3797 McDowell Road in Grove City is ~8,300 sq. ft., most of the space being used as a warehouse/shop area.

Over these last 50 years, AMS has grown into a regional industry leader with offices located in Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus. In all three markets AMS is performing design/build, design/assist, plan/spec, service, preventative maintenance, and controls. The primary scope of work includes all parts of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, and other areas where contracted.
